Emmanuel Jalai posted a strong performance for the Warriors, impressing in a 2-2 draw against Benin in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday.
The Dynamos captain, despite being a relatively unknown quantity in the squad, showcased composure and skill on the right flank.
He effectively contained Benin’s attacks and contributed to the Warriors’ offense.
While Jordan Zemura earned Man of the Match honours, Jalai’s performance ignited excitement, raising hopes he could solve the Warriors’ long-standing right-back problem.
His tenacity and offensive capabilities, despite his stature, left a lasting impression on fans.
Coach Michael Nees noted Jalai’s ability to excel despite his slight frame and potential for success against taller opponents.
“It was a bit unfortunate for him not playing, but he is very offensive defender but he is short especially when you play against Kenya and Cameroon who really have some massive guys.
“But I have a feeling that with his pace he could have make it and I have no doubt he had an excellent game.
“He is a good player, because he didn’t start or play doesn’t mean he is a bad player, all the players are good, and sometimes the difference is so small.”
