Warriors Out to Break Nigeria Jinx

Zimbabwe this Tuesday play against Nigeria in a must win 2026 World Cup Qualifiers encounter at Godswill Akbpollis in Uyo, Nigeria.

Kick Off is 6pm

The Zimbabwe Warriors, currently bottom of Group C with three points, seven behind leaders South Africa, go into this encounter desperate for a win to revive their hopes of a maiden World Cup qualification.

With 15 points left to play for, a defeat or draw will definitely shutter the Warriors’ dream.

Coach Michael Nees believes his team can pull a positive result against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, one of Africa’s powerhouses.

“We are expecting a tough game against Nigeria. They are a solid side coming from a crucial win against Rwanda.

“We are prepared to turn the tide in our own favour and we are hopeful of a positive result.”

Zimbabwe are yet to win against the Nigeria since 1981 when they faced each other back in a friendly match.

Nigeria kicked off the ongoing campaign slowly, only to pick their first win against Rwanda last week which propelled them to position four in the group with six points.
