DeMbare fans threaten match boycott

Frustrated Dynamos supporters have announced plans to boycott their upcoming Castle Lager Premiership match against rivals CAPS United.

The boycott is in protest against the alleged mismanagement by the club’s leadership – including owner Bernard Marriot.

There is a growing discontent with Marriot and club chairman Moses Maunganidze following a poor start to the season.

Fans argue that the club’s leadership has failed to address key issues, including player welfare, recruitment, and sign-on fees.

“We can no longer watch as our beloved club is being rundown,” said one fan.

“Marriot and Maunganidze have shown no ambition. We are tired of empty promises and poor results. The boycott is our last resort.”

The planned protest could see a significant drop in attendance at Rufaro for Sunday’s Harare derby, a match that usually draws massive crowds.

Dynamos have failed to secure a new kit this season to sum up some of their problems.

A Dynamos official dismissed the boycott threats, insisting the club is “on the right path.”

“Fans have the right to express their feelings, but we are working hard behind the scenes to improve the team.

“We urge them to support the boys on the field.”

As pressure mounts, it remains to be seen whether Marriot and Maunganidze will heed the fans’ demands.

The club is set to announce a new technical setup led by Saul Chaminuka.
