Warriors set to face Burkina Faso and Niger in friendlies

The Zimbabwe Warriors will play Burkina Faso and Niger in international friendly matches as part of preparations for upcoming World Cup fixtures.

Zimbabwe will face Burkina Faso on June 6, in Casablanca, Morocco, before taking on Niger four days later on June 10 in the same city.

Head coach Michael Nees and his technical team are expected to use the fixtures to assess new players.

ZIFA confirmed the fixtures, emphasising that the friendlies align with their broader strategy to ensure the Warriors gain regular high-level match exposure.

“These matches are vital in our preparation cycle,” a ZIFA spokesperson said.

“Facing quality opponents like Burkina Faso and Niger will help us evaluate our progress and fine-tune our approach ahead of major competitions.”

The Warriors, who last played in March, are looking to regain momentum after mixed results in recent outings.
