HARARE – Popular Dendera musician Sulumani Chimbetu says he is ‘equally shocked’ with sensational social media claims that he made romantic advances towards former first lady Grace Mugabe.
The online reports, which went viral over the weekend, alleged that Chimbetu proposed to the widow of the late former President Robert Mugabe after a chance meeting in Mazowe, and that he was subsequently reported for harassment at a Harare police station.
Sulu, however, told Twenty Four Seven that, he is “equally shocked and don’t even know where this is coming from.”
“It’s sad that people now want to create content in such a tasteless manner. It’s these fly-by-night journalists who are doing this just for likes and views,” Chimbetu told Twenty Four Seven.
In a light-hearted response to the allegations, Sulu posted on his Facebook page “Is it for Netflix or what. Mati ndadii futi.”
