Tendai Ndoro’s family salutes stakeholders

Sports Reporter

Family of the late former Zimbabwe international striker Tendai Ndoro has saluted football stakeholders who played a part during his burial.

Ndoro, a celebrated icon in both South African and Zimbabwean football, died in South Africa, triggering a complex and financially draining process to bring his body home.

In a statement, the Ndoro family extended its “heartfelt gratitude to all who played a part in the repatriation and burial” of the former Warriors star.

According to Ndoro’s family, among those who played a part is businessman and former Dynamos vice chairperson  Vincent Chawonza.

Ndoro’s family said Chawonza provided the crucial funding that allowed them to “give Tendai a farewell worthy of his legacy.”

Chawonza is not new to philanthropic work in football circles and beyond, having grabbed headlines for helping ailing Dynamos super fan Michael ‘Mdhara Chuchu’ Chindowa.

Some of the stakeholders include Zororo Phumulani and its logistics coordinator Tendai Mangote who played a huge role in the repatriation of Ndoro’s body.
