Police have arrested two former soccer players, Abas Amidu, aged 29, and Reuben Kudzai Mhlanga, aged 41, for drug trafficking.
Amidu, identified by police as Tumai Matsika, played for CAPS United and the Zimbabwe national team and Rueben Mhlanga, formerly with Dynamos were found in possession of 750kg of dagga valued at US$75 000 in a silver Honda Shuttle vehicle.
They were caught along the Kwekwe – Kadoma Highway on October 3.
Meanwhile, the ZRP arrested Prosper Mphofu (48) at Trabablas Interchange after receiving a parcel containing 60kg of dagga worth US$6 000 from a certain vehicle.
