Tendai Magaya, the wife of fraud and rape-accused preacher Walter Magaya, has been granted bail by a Harare magistrate after she was jointly charged with her husband for allegedly swindling home-seekers.
Magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa says investigation has been ongoing since 2023 and she could have run away at any time, but she stayed.
This after the prosecution said she was a flight risk.
Tendai was ordered to deposit US$500 bail, surrender her passport and report once every two weeks at Waterfalls Police.
Magaya, who was earlier remanded in custody to November 13 on rape charges, will have to turn to the High Court for bail on both charges
