Tungwarara’s record $200k Scottland advertorial deal

In a show of confidence in Zimbabwe’s media and sporting industries, Presidential Advisor and Prevail Group Chairman Dr Paul Tungwarara has entered into a USD $200,000 annual advertising deal with The Scottland Magazine Show.

The sponsorship covering both the print and podcast editions—stands among the largest single-year advertising commitments ever seen in Zimbabwe’s sports media sector.

Dr Tungwarara said the decision was motivated by a spirit of collaboration and patriotism among business leaders dedicated to driving national growth.

“I saw my brother, Sir Wicknell Chivhayo, supporting the show and I decided that all Prevail companies will advertise with The Scottland Magazine Show for a year,” he said.

Far from viewing local peers as rivals, Dr Tungwarara underscored the power of partnership in building Zimbabwe’s economy.

“The fact that we sometimes operate in similar industries with Honourable Scott doesn’t mean we are competitors we complement each other,” he said.

Looking beyond media support, Dr Tungwarara announced plans to partner Scottland FC in the upcoming season to provide free transport for football fans using his Tap and Go service when the team plays at Rufaro Stadium in Mbare.

“We want to be part of Zimbabwe’s football transformation journey,” he declared.

He also congratulated Scottland on clinching the 2025 Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League title, describing the victory as a triumph of “visionary leadership, hard work, and community spirit”.

“Congratulations to Honourable Scott and the entire Scottland FC family. This victory is a win for the community and for Zimbabwean sport,” Dr Tungwarara said.

Scottland Magazine Show’s Executive Producer, Tapiwa Letmore Mbidzo, for upholding international production standards and professionalism, adding that local creativity deserved global recognition.

Turning to social issues, he called for a national campaign against drug and substance abuse, urging corporate players to join forces for the wellbeing of the country’s youth.

“Our country is suffocating under the weight of drug abuse. I call upon other corporates to partner with Scottland for the betterment of Zimbabwe,” he said, while encouraging Hon Scott to introduce village-level football tournaments to nurture raw talent and empower rural youth.

Scottland chief executive Ronald Moyo attributed the club’s success to “determination and teamwork”, while award-winning comedian Comic Elder kept guests entertained at what turned out to be a vibrant, celebratory showcase of sport, media, and patriotism.
