Just a month after stepping in to assist ailing Dynamos superfan Michael ‘Chuchu’ Chindowe, former Dynamos vice-chairman Vincent Chawonza has once again demonstrated his compassion and generosity.
Chawonza donated US$1,200 along with groceries to support Chindowe and his family during a difficult time.
In another recent act of kindness, Chawonza contributed towards the funeral of the late former Zimbabwe international Tendai Ndoro.
His support helped ensure a dignified send-off for Ndoro, a player who once lit up the pitch for the Zimbabwe Warriors, Chicken Inn, Ajax Cape Town and Orlando Pirates.
The Ndoro family expressed heartfelt gratitude for Chawonza’s generosity in a touching statement: “To Mr Vincent Chawonza, we remain humbled by your generosity and kindness which enabled us to give Tendai Ndoro a farewell worthy of his legacy.”
And as if that wasn’t enough, just last week Chawonza paid a surprise visit to the Dynamos squad during training.
Impressed by the team’s comeback 3-2 win against Scottland, he gifted vice-captain Shadreck Nyahwa a 72-inch television and US$100.
Denver Mukamba and Vusimuzi Ngwenya also received US$100 each for their standout performances in the same match.
Chawonza went further, donating over US$500 for the rest of the team to share among themselves.
He also bought the entire squad lunch and offered words of encouragement, urging them to stay focused and fight to avoid relegation.
Moreover, there are unconfirmed reports that Chawonza regularly assists the Dynamos division two side.
He reportedly assists struggling players in and around Harare, helping with rent, medical bills, gym fees and other needs often overlooked by clubs.
