Zanu PF Youth League leader Tino Machakaire has urged Zimbabweans to avoid conflict and unite for common goals.
Speaking at the burial of Nokutenda Shambare, he acknowledged that while people may have differences, politics and religion should not divide them.
“We are one people, whether you belong to the Roman Catholic Church, Madzibaba, o any other faith. We must remain united. We are all praying to enter heaven, regardless of our church affiliations. Our purpose must be singular.”
“This applies equally to politics. I may belong to Zanu PF or another party, but our main objective is to ensure Zimbabwe prospers. In short, I am saying that Zimbabweans are united in fighting for the same goals, and there is no need to clash with one another,” Machakaire emphasised.
He stressed the inevitability of death and the futility of quarrelling.
“I told my brother John Paradza that we are here temporarily. Some may move around with heavy security, but death will visit us all. It is God who protects us; we must not be overly concerned about our security.”
Machakaire recently declared that there is no room for division within the ruling party, and all members must reject violence.
“Divisions and violence will not be tolerated in Zanu PF. Let us stay united, as those who seek to sow discord have no place in this party.”
“We have one leader, and we are all united under President Mnangagwa.
We must rally behind him, focusing on developing our country and growing our party.”
“Let’s shun violence. Zanu PF is a peaceful party, and anyone found on the wrong side of the law will face consequences.
Violence is unacceptable in Zanu PF; those with such tendencies should consider joining other parties, not Zanu PF,” Machakaire concluded.
