The highly anticipated Love Zimbabwe Festival, a landmark event uniting thousands of churches across the nation, begins in Harare this Friday.
This follows an outreach campaign across cities, stirring a wave of spiritual renewal nationwide.
Running from September 26 to September 28, the three-day festival is set to bring activity to the Zimbabwe Grounds in Highfield.
The festival is led by evangelist Andrew Palau, son of the late global evangelist Luis Palau, in partnership with the Zimbabwe Heads of Christian Denominations, a unified body representing the nation’s major Christian organisations.
The campaign’s goal is to proclaim a message of hope and unity to the nation.
“This festival is a collaborative effort, a movement to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our communities and our nation,” said Reverend Dimingu.
The festival’s impact is rooted in an unprecedented level of collaboration among church bodies, including the Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC), the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe (EFZ), the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops’ Conference (ZCBC), and the Union for the Development of Apostolic Churches in Zimbabwe (UDACIZA).
The Palau team trained over 1 000 individuals from more than 100 churches early in the campaign, with a vision to unite 2,500 churches for discipleship and outreach.
A series of leadership gatherings, including evangelism masterclasses and pastors’ renewal conferences, have equipped thousands of leaders across the country.
The festival is the capstone of a broader campaign that has actively engaged communities through diverse outreach programs.
These initiatives have included community support: Eyeglass clinics, medical clinics, and prison outreach.
Youth Engagement: Sports events, creative arts training, and school outreaches .
Specialized gatherings: A dedicated Women’s Conference keynote by evangelist Wendy Palau, designed to empower women of all ages.
This multi-faceted approach combines music, sports, and community service to create an inclusive environment for sharing the gospel.
Attendees can expect a vibrant family-friendly experience featuring live music from local and international artists, dynamic messages of hope, kids’ activities, and food.
“We will be coming in the power of the Holy Ghost, together with other Zimbabwean ministers, to the Love Zimbabwe Festival. We can’t wait, said Ada Ehi from Nigeria.
The festival aims to be a powerful celebration of faith, offering a space for believers to be strengthened and for seekers to encounter faith.
“It’s an honour and a dream that is finally coming true, to partner with you and all the churches, to lift high the name of Jesus. Serving together, we can reach out to every member of the community, right there in the heart of the city,” said Andrew Palau.
The Love Zimbabwe Festival follows a successful model of evangelism that has transformed lives across Africa, from Rwanda, Zambia and Kenya.
