Zimbabwe’s national football team, the Warriors, have dropped to their lowest FIFA ranking in ten years.
The team featured in their final two Group C matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers during the recently concluded international window, drawing 0-0 with group leaders South Africa before suffering a 1-0 defeat to lowly-ranked Lesotho.
The disappointing results have seen Zimbabwe fall to 129th in the latest FIFA World Rankings — their joint-lowest position in a decade.
The Warriors’ all-time lowest ranking remains 134th, recorded in February 2016.
On the continental chart, Zimbabwe slipped to 36th in Africa, maintaining a total of 1,125.5 points.
Meanwhile, Spain retained their place at the top of the global rankings, while Morocco continue to lead the African standings. – Soccer 24
