An application by PHD leader Prophet Walter Magaya and his wife, Tendai, to be released owing to their over-detention by police has been dismissed by Harare magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa.
They face 13 counts of fraud relating to a multi-million-dollar housing scheme that failed to take-off.
On rape allegations against Magaya, the presiding magistrate says court has no jurisdiction to entertain bail application and advised him to approach the High Court.
He has been remanded in him in custody to November 13.
Bail hearing underway for Magaya’s Tendai wife.
