GreenFuel’s forward Chris Ngwende has emerged as one of the most exciting talents in the top-flight, making a significant impact in recent matches.
Ngwende etched his name in the league’s history books by becoming the first player to score a brace against the formidable Scottland side this season in a 2-2 draw.
Ngwende’s double strike took his season tally to three goals, having opened his account earlier against Triangle United.
Despite a slow start to his top-flight career, the young forward is now proving his worth, showcasing confidence and composure in front of goal.
Ngwende said his match against Scottland is his best this season.
“My best game so far was against Scottland. I scored a brace,” he said.
“It was a tough opponent, but we believed in our strategy and executed it well. Scoring against such a talented team is a confidence booster, but we’re not getting complacent, we still have a lot to do.”
“Last year was my first year playing in the PSL. Everything was new, so the confidence wasn’t there yet.
“But this season, there’s nothing much new besides hard work and applying what I’m being taught by the coaches. I’m grateful for what the club is doing for us, supporting us to fight for our targets and dreams.”
Ngwende said he is focusing on scoring more goals going forward,
“Looking forward to scoring more goals and providing more assists.”
Greenfuel registered their second home defeat of the season against Ngezi Platinum over the weekend.
