Yadah, the Miracle Boys, pulled off a thrilling 2-1 victory over CAPS United, Green Machine, in a fiercely contested Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
A first-half stunner from Innocent Muchaneka and a second-half strike by Tanaka Chikumba secured three crucial points for Yadah. At the same time, Love Mabiala’s late goal proved mere consolation for the hosts.
A visibly relieved Yadah coach Takaendesa Jongwe hailed his team’s fighting spirit:
“At this stage of the season, every point is precious. The boys showed tremendous character today. We’ll enjoy this briefly, then focus on the next battle.”
CAPS United gaffer Ian Bakala rued his side’s injury crisis:
“We’re patching up the team every week. Missing five starters today hurt us, but no excuses – we must improve.”
Meanwhile, Dynamos registered their fourth victory of the season with a 3-0 over Kwekwe United.
