Emmanuel College golfers participates in Junior Golf Challenge

Eight young golf prodigies from Emmanuel College Harare have earned their place among the world’s elite junior golfers, as they tee off, at the highly competitive Junior Golf Challenge, one of Africa’s most prestigious international tournaments.
The Emmanuel College squad, Jonathan Musiiwa, Ethan Gwaze, Meagan Chidavaenzi, Bright Kanhema, Melisa Muganda, Listiah Bangura, and  Tadiwanashe Nyanyirai, secured their spots after a standout performance at the World Cup qualifiers in February.
The event, currently underway at San Lameer Golf Resort in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa Africa, has drawn top junior talent from across the globe, including powerhouses from Europe, South America, and Asia.
The tournament stands as a pinnacle of junior golf in Africa, offering not just prestige but also a pathway to major international championships.
“This is no ordinary tournament,” said Emmanuel High patron, Charles Kamba.
“The competition is fierce, with the best young golfers in the world converging in San Lameer.
“We are proud our players are physically sharp, mentally tough, and hungry to make their mark.”
Beyond glory, the stakes are sky-high, the San Lameer Challenge serves as a qualifier for multiple elite tournaments, including Swing Junior World Cup, Australian Junior World Championship, Champions of Champions, Asian Masters, Callaway Junior World Cup Championship.
The main tournament commenced on Monday and we will run until Friday.
“Representing our country is an honour,” said Kamba.
